Zanzibar President and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has urged senior leaders in public institutions to lead with integrity, justice, and compassion.
Dr. Mwinyi made the call on March 8, 2026, during the Third Faith-Based Leadership Conference for Zanzibar Revolutionary Government officials, organized by the Office of the Grand Mufti of Zanzibar at Sheikh Idris Abdul Wakil Hall in Kikwajuni, West Urban District.
The President said the conference is an important platform for reminding leaders of the need to uphold ethical values in public service and to balance professional responsibilities with faith-based principles an approach that enhances efficiency and effectiveness in government institutions.
He urged public servants to use the guidance provided during the conference to execute their duties with fairness, wisdom, and accountability, emphasizing that leadership is a responsibility, not a privilege.
Dr. Mwinyi also commended the Office of the Grand Mufti of Zanzibar and the Ministry of State, President’s Office, Constitution, Legal Affairs, Public Service, and Good Governance for successfully organizing the conference for the third consecutive year.
The event brought together senior government officials, security agency leaders, religious figures, and civil servants from across Zanzibar.
