The Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, met today with the Ambassador of Cuba to Tanzania, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, at Chamwino State House in Dodoma.
The high-level talks focused on strengthening the enduring friendship and cooperation between the two countries, which this year marks its 64th anniversary.
The discussions highlighted the long-standing collaboration between Tanzania and Cuba across key sectors such as education, health, tourism, and agriculture.
Both sides emphasized the importance of building on these partnerships to further promote sustainable development and shared prosperity.
Tanzania and Cuba have enjoyed decades of strong economic, political, and diplomatic relations, working closely at bilateral, regional, and international levels.
Diplomatic ties were formally established in 1962, shortly after Tanzania gained independence in 1961.
The meeting underlined a mutual commitment to expand cooperation, explore new areas of collaboration, and strengthen people-to-people connections, ensuring that the historic partnership continues to deliver tangible benefits to citizens of both nations.
