The Ministry of Health, in partnership with the World Health Organization under the Pandemic Fund, has stepped up training for Tanzania’s National Emergency Medical Teams.
The program, currently taking place in Zanzibar, aims to strengthen the country’s readiness to respond to health emergencies and disease outbreaks.
Simulation exercises allow health experts to practice responding to real-life emergencies in a controlled, safe environment.
By mimicking disease outbreaks or other health crises, these exercises test the skills of medical teams and the capacity of institutions, ensuring they can act quickly and effectively when a real situation arises.
Such training not only enhances preparedness but also helps minimize the health and social impacts of outbreaks. Experts can pinpoint areas needing improvement, fine-tune response strategies, and ultimately protect communities across the country.
