TANAPA confirms Serengeti Safaris continue despite heavy rains

By The Respondents Reporter

The Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) has clarified that tourism activities in Serengeti National Park have not been suspended, contrary to recent social media rumors.

In an official statement, TANAPA confirmed that all safaris and park operations are continuing as normal, assuring visitors that all bridges and drifts within the Serengeti are currently passable, despite heavy ongoing rains.

The agency urged tour drivers to follow instructions from rescue and safety teams stationed at key crossing points, emphasizing visitor safety as a top priority. TANAPA also called on the public and media to act responsibly and avoid spreading false information that could harm Tanzania’s tourism sector.

The notice was signed by Catherine Mbena, Assistant Conservation Commissioner for Communications at TANAPA.

TANAPA’s clarification comes as the country continues to position its national parks as safe and reliable destinations for both domestic and international tourists.
