Simba SC emerged victorious with a 2-1 win against Singida Black Stars in a Tanzania Mainland Premier League (NBC Premier League) clash at Airtel Mtupa Stadium in Singida.
The win adds three vital points to Simba’s campaign as they continue their title chase.
The visitors started the match brightly and took an early lead in the 7th minute when midfielder Anicet Oura expertly converted a clear chance, giving Simba an early advantage.
Singida Black Stars quickly responded, intensifying their attacks in search of an equalizer. Their persistence paid off in the 38th minute when they scored to level the match at 1-1, a scoreline that held until halftime.
The second half saw both teams adopt a cautious approach, probing for openings while maintaining defensive solidity. Simba, however, remained determined to claim all three points and found a breakthrough in the 85th minute. Striker Elie Mpanzu finished a well-orchestrated team move to put Simba ahead 2-1.
Despite late pressure from the hosts, Simba held firm to secure a hard-fought away victory, reinforcing their position in the league standings.
