The Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC) has praised the Ministry of Finance for the successful and efficient construction of its new office building in the Government City at Mtumba.

PAC Chairman, Hon. Devotha Minja, said the project stood out for its smooth execution and minimal concerns compared to other government projects the committee has inspected.

“The work is impressive. You have delivered quality results, and the required documentation should be provided to allow us to advise the Government effectively,” Hon. Minja said.

On behalf of the committee, he pledged continued support and collaboration with the Ministry of Finance on matters that advance citizen-focused development.

Speaking to the PAC delegation, Deputy Minister of Finance, Hon. Laurent Luswetula, expressed gratitude to President Samia Suluhu Hassan for providing the funds for the construction of the nine-story building, now a landmark in the area.

Hon. Luswetula noted that the project, which is 98 percent complete, is expected to enhance staff morale and improve productivity through a modern working environment and state-of-the-art facilities.

“With these facilities, the Ministry of Finance is better positioned to deliver on its mandate and respond effectively to the needs of citizens,” he said.

He also assured the PAC Chairman that all recommendations from the committee, including comprehensive reporting on the building, would be implemented.

During the visit, PAC members inspected offices for senior leaders and staff, financial systems, building security, health and safety measures, meeting halls, and other areas within the new facility.
