The Mining Commission of Tanzania has released the latest mineral indicative prices for gold, silver, and copper as of March 30, 2026, providing key guidance for traders, miners, and investors across the country.
Gold continues to hold a strong position in the market. The world market price of gold is now USD 4,519.15 per troy ounce. In local currency terms, this translates to TZS 376,343.26 per gram.
Mineral market prices within Tanzania are slightly lower at TZS 338,708.94 per gram, while buying centres offer TZS 331,182.07 per gram to miners.
Silver remains an important commodity for industrial and investment purposes. The world market price for silver is USD 69.62 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 5,797.78 per gram.
Tanzanian mineral market prices are reported at TZS 5,218.00 per gram, and buying centres pay TZS 5,102.04 per gram.
Copper prices are currently recorded at USD 5.49 per pound on the world market, or TZS 31.33 per gram. Locally, the mineral market price is TZS 28.19 per gram, while buying centres pay TZS 27.57 per gram.
The Mining Commission emphasizes that these indicative prices are crucial for transparent trading in the mineral sector and help standardize transactions for miners and dealers across Tanzania.
