Kilosa District Commissioner, Mr. Shaka, has officially launched a specialist doctors’ camp under an initiative spearheaded by President Samia Suluhu Hassan through Muhimbili National Hospital.

The camp, held at the Kilosa Town Primary School grounds, is organized in partnership with Vodacom Tanzania Foundation and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania.

It aims to provide residents with access to free specialized medical services, addressing both routine and complex health needs.

The initiative, which began on March 10 and runs until March 13, 2026, is expected to benefit more than 2,000 people from Kilosa and surrounding areas.

Services offered include consultations from specialist doctors, diagnostic tests, and preventive health advice.

Speaking at the launch, DC Shaka emphasized the importance of bringing healthcare closer to the community.

“This camp is a demonstration of our commitment to ensuring quality health services reach every resident, especially those who face challenges accessing hospitals in urban centres,” he said.

Officials from Muhimbili National Hospital highlighted that such outreach programs are part of ongoing efforts to reduce the burden of diseases in rural areas and strengthen community health awareness.

Vodacom Tanzania Foundation also reaffirmed its support for initiatives that improve access to essential services in underserved communities.

The camp is part of a broader national strategy to expand healthcare access and strengthen collaboration between government institutions and private sector partners, ensuring that quality medical care reaches all Tanzanians.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the services, which are offered free of charge throughout the duration of the camp.
