The Irish Minister of State, Mr. E. Christopher O’Sullivan, accompanied by Ireland’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Ms. Nicola Brennan, visited Muhimbili National Hospital to observe pediatric cancer treatment services funded by the Irish Government through the Hope for Life Foundation.
The visit focused on Tanzania’s integrated programs that provide medical treatment and support for children with cancer, enabling access to essential care.
Dr. Faraja Chiwanga, Director of Clinical Services at Muhimbili, speaking on behalf of the hospital’s Director General, noted that collaboration between the Governments of Tanzania and Ireland, along with partner institutions, has contributed to improving pediatric cancer services and increasing recovery chances for children receiving treatment.
The visit reflects ongoing bilateral cooperation in health initiatives and the continued support for programs addressing pediatric cancer care in Tanzania.
