B19 Football Club has stepped up preparations ahead of a daunting clash against Tanzanian giants Simba SC in the Round of 32 of the CRDB Federation Cup, scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam.

The Kigamboni-based side is approaching the encounter with confidence and determination, viewing the match as a major opportunity to test their abilities against one of the country’s most successful clubs.

B19 Secretary General Isaac said the team is in good shape and players are highly motivated as they prepare for the high-profile knockout match.

He noted that the players are fully aware of Simba’s status as a powerhouse in Tanzanian and African football, with a squad rich in experience and regular participation in continental competitions.

Despite the challenge, Isaac said B19 will enter the match with respect for their opponents while remaining focused on executing their own tactical approach.

“We respect Simba because they are a big club with experience in international competitions. However, this is also a great opportunity for our players to test themselves and showcase their abilities against a strong side,” he said.

According to him, the team’s technical bench has been working closely with the players to sharpen tactics and improve match readiness ahead of the crucial fixture.

B19 captain Ramadhan Kalanje echoed the same confidence, saying the players are fully committed and following instructions from the coaching staff.

“The technical bench is doing its job well and we as players are listening carefully and implementing what we are taught in training,” he said.

Kalanje said the players are focused on overcoming fear and approaching the match with confidence, despite facing a team with a strong reputation like Simba.

“Simba is a big team that competes in international tournaments, and we respect them. But football always has three possible outcomes. Since this is a knockout match, we are ready to fight for a positive result,” he said.

He added that B19 has studied Simba’s playing style as part of their preparations, which he believes will help the team approach the match with a clear strategy.

Meanwhile, Kigamboni District Football Association (KDFA) Chairman Ramadhan Shauritanga has urged the players to seize the opportunity and demonstrate their talents on a bigger stage.

He said the match provides a rare platform for young players to prove themselves and potentially attract attention from top clubs and football stakeholders.

“This is a big opportunity for you to show your talent and ability. Perform well and people will recognize your potential, which could open doors for greater opportunities in football,” he said.

The Round of 32 clash is expected to draw attention from football fans across the country, as the CRDB Federation Cup has historically produced thrilling encounters and surprise results.

For B19, the match is not only about competing against a top club but also about proving their potential and making a strong statement in one of Tanzania’s most competitive knockout tournaments.
