The Austrian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of political affairs, Ambassador Dr. Hannah Liko, arrived in Tanzania today for a three-day official visit aimed at deepening diplomatic, trade, and development cooperation between the two countries.
Dr. Liko was received at Julius Nyerere International Airport by Tanzania’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna, Naimi S. Aziz, and the Austrian Ambassador to Tanzania, based in Nairobi, Dr. Christian Fellner.
During her stay, the Deputy Minister will meet senior officials, including the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Dr. Ngwaru Maghembe (MP), and leaders from the President’s Office (Planning and Investment), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Home Affairs, and Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Dr. Liko is also expected to visit the University of Dar es Salaam to explore opportunities for academic partnerships and higher education collaboration.
The visit will conclude on March 25, 2026, marking a significant step in strengthening Tanzania–Austria relations.
