Zara Tanzania Adventures, a leading mountain climbing tour operator, has won a major tourism accolade, further strengthening Tanzania’s position on the global tourism map.
The company emerged victorious at the Serengeti Awards 2025, where it was named Best Mountain Climbing Tour Operator, an honor that underscores excellence in mountain tourism services across the country.
According to a statement released on Thursday, February 5, 2026, the award was presented last week during a ceremony held at the Mount Meru Hotel in Arusha, attended by company owners, tourism stakeholders, and international tourists.
Organizers of the Serengeti Awards said the recognition was based on the company’s strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and ethical practices in guiding climbers on Mount Kilimanjaro.
They cited the company’s expert route planning, effective acclimatization strategies, strict adherence to emergency response procedures, and respect for the rights and welfare of both guides and clients as key factors behind the win.
In addition to the company award, Yesse Izack Lema, a guide with Zara Tanzania Adventures, was named Best Mountain Guide, while another guide from the company also won the Best Safari Tour Guide award.
