Uganda’s President Museveni to hold one-day working visit in Tanzania

His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, is set to arrive in Tanzania tomorrow, Saturday, February 7, 2026, for a one-day working visit.

During the visit, President Museveni will engage in bilateral talks with his host, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania. 

The discussions are expected to focus on deepening diplomatic ties, expanding economic cooperation, and addressing key regional and international matters of mutual interest.

A central point on the agenda will be the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project, a landmark initiative poised to deliver substantial benefits to both nations and the wider East African region.

Following the discussions, the two Presidents will address the media, providing updates on the outcomes of their meetings.

The visit takes place amid ongoing efforts by both countries to strengthen collaboration in areas such as trade, security, and infrastructure development. President Museveni is scheduled to depart Tanzania after completing his official programme.

The announcement of the visit was made by Shaaban Kissu, Director of Presidential Communications at the State House.
