Leaders of trade unions, employers, and cooperatives have been urged to take the lead in promoting the use of technology to improve productivity, transparency, and efficiency at workplaces.
The call came during a training on the National Electronic System for Labor Market Information, organized by the Prime Minister’s Office – Employment and Labor Relations, on February 23, 2026.
Speaking on behalf of the Registrar of Trade Unions and Employers, Chief Labor Officer Veronica Maro said the system will help coordinate, collect, analyze, and share labor market data in real time.
She stressed that it will make it easier for institutions to find qualified professionals and deliver services efficiently.
“The system also allows organizations to advertise vacancies and connect directly with job seekers with the right qualifications,” she said.
She added that the government will continue to oversee and promote the system in line with existing laws, regulations, and guidelines.
Ramadhani Selemani of the Tanzania Drivers’ Union (TADU) praised the system, saying it will improve access to timely labor market information.
Asteria Gerald, representing the Hotel, Social Services, and Counseling Workers’ Union (CHODAWU), said her union is ready to encourage digital use in sharing information and services with members, pledging to support the system as Tanzania undergoes technological transformation in the labor market.
