Tanzania is set to highlight its vast mineral potential at the 2026 International Mining Investment Conference (Mining Indaba) in Cape Town, South Africa, from February 9 to 12, 2026.

The country will participate through the Ministry of Minerals, key institutions, and stakeholders across the mineral value chain, including financial partners.

Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Msafiri Mbibo, said Tanzania is prepared to present itself as a leading destination for mining investment, particularly in strategic minerals.

The government will engage with investors, industry leaders, and experts to discuss opportunities in investment, technology transfer, and international partnerships.

“Tanzania’s participation reflects the government’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for mining investment. We aim to ensure that the sector contributes to sustainable economic growth and benefits citizens directly through modern mining practices and international collaboration,” Mbibo explained.

He added that the conference offers multiple benefits, including attracting new investment, boosting government revenue, showcasing the country’s mineral resources, strengthening international cooperation, and exchanging knowledge and advanced mining technologies from around the world.

Mining Indaba is the premier global platform for mining investment in Africa. It gathers government officials, investors, mining companies, and experts to discuss policies, challenges, and opportunities in the sector.

Tanzania’s active involvement underscores its ambition to become a leading player in Africa’s mineral industry.

Through reforms in policy and regulation, Tanzania continues to enhance transparency, streamline licensing processes, and promote sustainable mining practices, making the country an attractive destination for international investors.
