Simba Sports Club is set to launch a new membership card system starting March 27, after signing agreements with Mainstream Group and Nexus Pesa to modernize membership management from local branches to the club’s headquarters.
Vice Chairman of the Board and Club Chairman, Murtaza Mangungu, said the rollout has been carefully prepared, involving coordination with multiple institutions, and will begin with registration at branch level.
“This is the ideal time for members, especially at the branch level, and branch registration will start shortly,” Mangungu said.
He added that the initiative will benefit the club by replacing lost cards, providing cards to those who need them, and ensuring accurate membership records.
“Maintaining precise member data is crucial for the smooth operation of the club,” he noted.
The application process will follow Simba’s constitution, with submissions made through local branches. Members residing abroad will also have access, while the procedure for obtaining cards will remain consistent with existing practices.
Board Chairman, Crescentius Magori, said the club had long awaited a trustworthy partner to produce modern, internationally recognized membership cards.
“Mainstream Group will develop the digital system for the cards, while Nexus Pesa will issue them as VISA-enabled cards, providing members with both identification and financial functionality,” he said.
The cards will not only confirm Simba membership but also allow members to store funds, make payments, and perform a variety of transactions.
Mainstream Group CEO, Deogratius Mosha, explained that the system is designed to be modern, secure, and user-friendly, enabling members to register easily from anywhere.
He added that members will receive cards at no additional cost, with two options available: a virtual card and a physical card, helping Simba maintain accurate and up-to-date membership records.
