Dar es Salaam is set to host the kick-off of the National Disability Football Premier League in June this year, in a move aimed at strengthening Tanzania’s participation in regional and continental competitions.

The Public Relations Officer of the Tanzania Amputee Football Federation (TAFF), Khalid Msabaha, said the league will serve as a key platform for identifying and developing players to form national teams for international tournaments.

Speaking to The repondent. Msabaha said Tanzania is preparing to take part in both East African and African championships for men and women later this year.

“The main objective of the league is to identify competitive players who can represent the country at international level,” he said.

He noted that while the domestic competition calendar is already in place with the Premier League scheduled to begin in June, details of international fixtures are yet to be confirmed.

“At the international level, we are still awaiting official schedules from the Confederation of African Football, as well as confirmation on the East African competitions for both men and women. So far, host countries have not been announced,” Msabaha said.

The league is expected to play a significant role in promoting inclusive sports development and enhancing Tanzania’s competitiveness in disability football across the region and the continent.
