The District Commissioner of Mbeya, Solomon Itunda, has praised the District Executive Director of Mbeya, Erica Yegella, for her outstanding performance in revenue collection, which reached 100 percent of the council’s target.
In addition, food provision in secondary schools within the district achieved 85 percent, reflecting significant progress in public service delivery.
Addressing the Mbeya District Council meeting on February 3, which reviewed the second quarter of the 2025/2026 financial year, DC Itunda conveyed the government’s greetings and expressed satisfaction with the council’s achievements.
He noted that the impressive results are a testament to strong leadership, dedication, and strategic management, setting a benchmark for other local government authorities in the region.
Itunda urged continued commitment to efficiency and service delivery to ensure sustainable development and improved welfare for the community.
DED Yegella was commended for her proactive approach, particularly in mobilizing resources and ensuring that council services meet the needs of residents, including the provision of food in schools.
