The Kibaha District Advisory Committee has approved the Kibaha Municipal Council’s budget for the 2026/2027 fiscal year, totaling Tanzania Shillings (TZS) 66.7 billion.
The budget is aimed at improving public services, boosting local development, and ensuring that resources benefit residents directly.
According to the committee, TZS 15.8 billion will come from local revenue collection, while TZS 39.8 billion is allocated for salaries from the central government.
Another TZS 1.9 billion is set aside for other essential expenditures, and an additional TZS 1.9 billion is earmarked for development projects.
The budget meeting was chaired by District Commissioner Nickson Simon, who praised Dr. Rogers Shemwelekwa, Municipal Director of Kibaha, for his efforts in increasing local revenue collection and improving service delivery.
Simon expressed satisfaction with the trends in revenue collection and stressed the importance of innovation to enable the council to implement its responsibilities more efficiently.
Committee members welcomed the budget for prioritizing key sectors such as health, education, and the local economy, especially through initiatives like a 10% loan scheme for specific community groups.
They also urged the council to invest in sports development, including establishing sports academies and building a modern stadium to nurture youth talent and promote social and economic growth within the municipality.
With the budget now approved, residents of Kibaha can expect improved services and faster implementation of development projects that will enhance their daily lives and the overall growth of the municipality.
