Government trains ministries and institutions on the electronic labour market system

The Office of the Prime Minister for Labour, Employment, and Relations has trained participants from various government ministries and institutions on the National Labour Market Information System (NLMIS) at the OSHA Building in Dodoma.

The training is part of the Government’s efforts to equip officials with the skills needed to provide accurate employment information from their workplaces, ensuring that labour market data is effectively collected and utilized.

Acting Director of Employment and Skills Development, Ms. Alana Nchimbi, emphasized the importance of the training, encouraging participants to fully engage with the NLMIS system to produce reliable employment statistics that support national development projects.


Acting Assistant Director, Mr. Godwin Mpelumbe, explained that the labour market information is compiled through several departments, including Skills Development, Labour Unions, Legal Affairs, and Policy Planning, ensuring a comprehensive picture of the job market in Tanzania.

Participants praised the Government for introducing the system and called for continued public awareness and education to help all stakeholders and users gain the skills needed to maximize the system’s benefits in their daily work.
