The Dar es Salaam Basketball Association (BD) is set to elect its new leadership tomorrow at the Holiday Inn Hotel in Dar es Salaam.
Okare Emesu, Chairperson of BD’s Election Committee, confirmed that preparations for the election are complete, with all candidate campaigns concluding today.
He said ten candidates who met the eligibility requirements have been approved following interviews held earlier in the city.
“We are in the final stages of preparation. Candidates have completed their campaigns, allowing members to choose representatives who will represent Dar es Salaam in the Tanzanian Basketball Federation (TBF) General Election on February 28 in Dodoma,” Emesu said.
The position of Chairperson will be contested by Eiud Eliezer and Shendu Mwagala, while Yusuph Sunge is running for Vice Chairperson.
The Secretary-General position has three candidates: Gidibo Tindwa, Emmanuel Yuda, and Daniel Kapongo.
Julieth Julius is seeking the role of Women’s Director, and Miriam Kiwelo is running for School Basketball Director.
Shaban Mohamed Shaban is contesting the position of Technical and Competition Director.
