President of Zanzibar, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has made strategic appointments to strengthen leadership in key government institutions.
Salma Ali Kimara takes over as Director General of the Zanzibar Road Transport and Safety Authority (ZRTSA).
Kimara previously served as Acting Head of Planning, Statistics, and Policy at the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA), bringing strong experience in planning and policy development to her new role.
Dr. Omar Dadi Shajak has been named Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zanzibar Petroleum Regulatory Authority (ZPRA).
A retired Principal Secretary of the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, Dr. Shajak is expected to provide experienced guidance in overseeing the country’s petroleum sector.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ali Salim Ali has been re-appointed as Chairman of the Zanzibar AIDS Commission, continuing his leadership in coordinating the region’s HIV/AIDS prevention and response efforts.
All appointments are effective immediately, according to the notice signed by Engineer Zena A. Said, Secretary of the Revolutionary Council and Chief Secretary of Zanzibar.
The appointments reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening institutional leadership and ensuring effective management across critical sectors in Zanzibar.
