The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) in Morogoro Region has started training 344,712 taxpayers and business operators on the new Integrated Domestic Revenue Administration System (IDRAS), ahead of its official launch on February 9, 2026.

TRA Morogoro Regional Manager, Sylver Rutagwelera, said the system will manage all domestic taxes through a single, integrated platform, making tax payment easier and boosting government revenue.

He urged participants, including accountants and tax consultants from public and private institutions, to embrace and fully understand the system.

“We began training our staff, and now we are reaching out to business operators in all districts. Our team will follow up directly with taxpayers to ensure everyone can use IDRAS effectively,” Rutagwelera said.

Senior ICT Officer Ernest Shirima, with tax management officers John Magembe and Mohamed Mchekaje, noted that IDRAS will reduce office congestion, improve transparency, and make tax compliance more convenient.

IDRAS has 17 modules, including Motor Vehicle and Driving Licence modules, which have been operational since last year.

Other modules, such as Registration, Communication, Return Filing and Assessment, and Knowledge Management, will be rolled out soon.

Participant Frida Joseph said the system will simplify tax obligations and save taxpayers time.

“This system reduces the need for repeated visits to TRA offices and makes it easier for us to assist taxpayers to meet their obligations on time,” she said.
