TISEZA champions investment in pharmaceutical manufacturing at national forum

By The Respondents Reporter

The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting pharmaceutical manufacturing investment by participating in the Tanzania Pharmaceutical Production Investment Forum, held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dar es Salaam.

Held under the theme “Unlocking Tanzania’s Potential as a Regional Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Hub,” the forum brought together government institutions, investors, manufacturers, development partners and industry stakeholders to explore strategies for strengthening local pharmaceutical production and attracting investment into the sector.

During the forum, TISEZA actively engaged through presentations, panel discussions, business-to-business (B2B) meetings and exhibitions.

The Authority used these platforms to showcase investment opportunities available within Special Economic Zones and to highlight incentives designed to attract both local and international investors into pharmaceutical manufacturing.

TISEZA emphasized the importance of creating a supportive and predictable investment environment, noting that a strong pharmaceutical manufacturing base is vital for improving access to quality medicines, reducing reliance on imports and enhancing health security.

The Authority also underscored Tanzania’s strategic location, expanding market and supportive policy framework as key advantages for investors seeking to establish regional production facilities.

The forum served as a critical platform for dialogue, partnership building and knowledge sharing, reinforcing Tanzania’s vision of becoming a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing hub in the region and strengthening its position within regional and continental supply chains.
