Tanzania has once again grabbed global attention in the tourism sector, with Forbes Travel magazine of the United States naming the country the best safari and beach destination in Africa for 2025/2026.
The publication, which reaches over 1.8 billion readers annually, praised Tanzania for its rich natural heritage, diverse attractions, and breathtaking landscapes.
In a feature article published on January 4, 2026, Forbes highlighted seven of Tanzania’s national parks as key contributors to the country’s tourism prestige.
These include Serengeti National Park, famous worldwide for the Great Wildebeest Migration; Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s tallest mountain; and Ruaha National Park, celebrated for its large populations of elephants and lions.
Other parks recognized include Nyerere National Park, the country’s largest park along the Rufiji River; Katavi National Park, known for vast herds of buffalo and hippos; Mahale Mountains National Park, renowned for chimpanzee habitats; and Lake Manyara National Park, home to the iconic tree-climbing lions.
Forbes Travel described Tanzania as a destination of global significance, noting: “From wildlife and pristine beaches to iconic mountains and rich history, Tanzania stands out as one of Africa’s premier destinations for travelers seeking unique experiences.”
The article also highlighted the beaches of Zanzibar, Pemba, and Mafia, along with the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, as attractions that further boost tourism by offering visitors unforgettable safari and leisure experiences.
Tanzania’s growing international recognition comes amid continued government efforts to conserve natural resources, develop the tourism industry, and promote the country’s attractions worldwide.
Recently, CNN Travel listed Arusha city and Arusha National Park among the top 20 destinations to visit in 2026, reinforcing Tanzania’s reputation as a leading African tourism hub.
With its combination of world-class national parks, pristine beaches, and rich cultural heritage, Tanzania continues to stand out as a top choice for travelers seeking adventure, relaxation, and authentic African experiences.
