The Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) will use international exhibitions to promote the country’s national parks and attract more tourists, aiming to reach eight million visitors or more by 2030.
TANAPA Commissioner for Conservation, CPA Musa Nassoro Kuji, said this during a visit to the authority’s pavilion at the 12th Zanzibar International Trade Fair (ZITF), ongoing at Fumba Exhibition Grounds.
He said TANAPA’s participation in such events reflects its commitment to boosting tourism, engaging investors, stakeholders, and the public, while educating citizens on the importance of conserving natural resources for current and future generations.
TTB Director General Ephraim Balozi Mafuru urged Tanzanians to visit the TANAPA pavilion to learn more about tourism opportunities, highlighting Serengeti National Park, recently awarded the World Travel Award as the world’s leading safari destination.
Through platforms like ZITF, TANAPA continues to strengthen partnerships, share knowledge, and create new collaborations aimed at increasing tourism’s contribution to the country’s social and economic development.
The exhibitions are part of a broader national strategy to market Tanzania internationally, while encouraging citizens to take pride in and explore the nation’s national parks, a key pillar of the economy.
