Tabora welcomes 2026 in peaceful and calm celebrations

Residents across Tabora Region welcomed the New Year 2026 in a calm and orderly manner, with peace and security prevailing as they bade farewell to 2025.

Across the region, citizens marked the occasion through various forms of celebration, with entertainment venues recording large turnouts as music and social activities dominated the night. 

Despite the festive atmosphere, normalcy, peace and public order were maintained in all major gathering areas.

In keeping with long-standing local traditions, some residents were seen in different neighbourhoods during the night singing and celebrating together as they marked the transition into the new year.

Police maintained a visible presence in areas with large crowds to ensure the safety of revelers and business operators alike, creating an environment that allowed celebrations to proceed without incidents or disruption of public order.

In her New Year address delivered on December 31, 2025, President Samia Suluhu Hassan extended her best wishes to Tanzanians, wishing them success and prosperity in 2026. 

She reiterated the government’s commitment to serving all citizens diligently while continuing to strengthen national unity.

The President also called on citizens to reject ideological divisions and work together in harmony as they continue to build and develop the nation.
