Deputy Minister for Health Dr Florence Samizi on Friday continued her engagement with key departments and programmes under the Ministry of Health, as she seeks to build a clear and comprehensive picture of their performance, priorities and challenges.
Meeting officials in Dodoma at the Jakaya Kikwete Convention Centre, Dr Samizi received detailed briefings from the National AIDS Control Programme (NASHCoP), the National Malaria Control Programme and the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Programme (NTLP), all of which are implemented through projects financed by the Global Fund.
The presentations highlighted progress made in the implementation of various interventions, the utilisation of financial and technical resources, and measures being taken to strengthen efficiency and service delivery.
Officials also outlined strategies aimed at accelerating progress towards national targets on the control of HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis.
Dr Samizi stressed the need for rigorous and continuous assessment of all Global Fund–supported programmes to ensure public resources are used prudently and transparently.
She said effective oversight was critical in ensuring that funding translates into improved health services and measurable benefits for citizens.
“Every shilling invested must deliver real impact to the people,” she said, noting that strong coordination, accountability and results-based implementation remain central to achieving national health goals within the planned timelines.
