Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba today, January 27, 2026, led a symbolic tree-planting exercise in front of the Prime Minister’s office in Mlimwa, Dodoma, demonstrating support for environmental conservation.
The initiative aligns with President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s patriotic approach to celebrating her birthday through practical actions that protect the environment.
Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Neema Mwigulu, Dr. Mwigulu praised the President for her visionary and innovative leadership, noting her commitment to initiatives that benefit the nation.
“This activity is significant because it encourages tree planting across the country. In our traditions, planting a tree is not just symbolic; it benefits countless people and communities,” he said.
The Prime Minister also urged citizens to mark personal milestones, such as birthdays, with acts that leave lasting positive impacts.
“Whenever we celebrate important occasions, we should do something that creates a legacy and benefits others,” he emphasized.
During the exercise, Dr. Mwigulu planted a Mdodoma/Mtimaji tree (Trichilia emetica), contributing to the ongoing efforts to restore Tanzania’s green cover and promote sustainable environmental practices.
