Lushoto MP, Prof. Riziki Shemdoe, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to NMB Bank for donating medical and educational equipment to the constituency, a contribution expected to strengthen healthcare delivery and improve learning environments for local students.
The handover ceremony, held on January 19, 2026, saw the constituency coordinator, Ms. Catherine Singano, convey Prof. Shemdoe’s appreciation on his behalf.
The equipment, valued at over TZS 56 million, was handed over by NMB Bank Northern Zone Manager, Mr. Ladislaus Baraka, to Lushoto District Commissioner, Sephania Sumaye.
The items are earmarked for Lutheran Hospital Lushoto, Lushoto District Hospital, Ngulwi, Migambo, and Kiniko secondary schools, as well as Ndeme, Chumbageni, and Bombo primary schools.
Mr. Baraka emphasized that NMB Bank remains committed to supporting government initiatives that address community challenges, particularly in education and healthcare.
“We will continue partnering with the government to ensure better access to essential services,” he said.
He also acknowledged Prof. Shemdoe for his proactive role in encouraging NMB Bank to contribute, highlighting how collaboration between development partners and government can improve basic services for the community.
Hon. Sumaye thanked NMB Bank for the generous donation and lauded Prof. Shemdoe for his efforts in mobilizing development partners to work with the government in upgrading educational and healthcare infrastructure.
The donated items include hospital beds, mattresses, bed sheets, desks, chairs, tables, and corrugated iron sheets, all aimed at enhancing service delivery and creating a conducive learning and healing environment in Lushoto.
