The Ngorongoro Conservation Authority (NCAA) has launched a five-day training programme for members of its Tender Board aimed at strengthening their skills in procurement and work execution. The programme runs from January 5 to 9, 2026.
The training, held in Mwanza, is part of NCAA’s efforts to improve operational efficiency and ensure adherence to established procedures in public procurement.
Salma Chisonga, Assistant Commissioner of Conservation and Chairperson of the Tender Board, said the initiative is designed to equip board members with the knowledge needed to perform their duties effectively and deliver timely services.
“This training is part of leadership efforts under Commissioner Abdul-Razaq Badru to ensure all departments receive capacity building, improve service delivery, and enhance operational efficiency within available timelines,” Chisonga said.
The training also aligns with NCAA’s plan to modernise its operational systems, incorporate technological advancements, and elevate Ngorongoro as a premium safari destination.
Facilitators from the Tanzania Accounting Institute, Uswege Ibrahim and Alfred Manda, encouraged participants to uphold professionalism and accountability in their procurement duties to ensure public funds are used effectively.
The five-day programme covers procurement procedures, ethical standards, and best practices in tender management, aiming to strengthen the board’s capacity to make informed decisions and enhance transparency in public spending.
