Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office for Labour, Employment, and Relations, Deus Sangu, has held talks with the Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Lt. Gen. (Rtd) Yacoub Mohamed, on expanding employment opportunities for Tanzanians abroad.
The meeting, held at the Minister’s Small Office in Dar es Salaam, focused on assessing available jobs in the UAE, addressing challenges faced by Tanzanians working overseas, and designing strategies to improve access, management, and protection of Tanzanian workers.
Sangu assured that the government is committed to tackling challenges in foreign employment by strengthening oversight of recruitment agencies, enforcing labour laws, and safeguarding workers’ rights.
He also appreciated Ambassador Yacoub’s proposals, which will guide the Ministry in enhancing employment services for Tanzanians abroad.
Ambassador Yacoub, in turn, thanked the Minister for the effective collaboration between the Embassy and the Ministry in implementing employment initiatives.
The discussion involved officials from both the Ministry and the Tanzanian Embassy in the UAE, reflecting a coordinated effort to create more opportunities for Tanzanians seeking jobs overseas.
