Mineral indicative prices for January 06,2026



The Tanzania Mining Commission (TMC) has released the latest indicative prices for gold and silver as of January 6, 2026, providing guidance for miners, traders, and buyers across the country.

For gold, the world market price is set at USD 4,483.80 per troy ounce, equivalent to TZS 355,604.62 per gram. The mineral market price in Tanzania stands at TZS 320,044.15 per gram, while the buying centre price is slightly lower at TZS 312,932.06 per gram.

Meanwhile, silver is priced at USD 79.11 per troy ounce on the world market, or TZS 6,274.12 per gram. Locally, the mineral market price is TZS 5,646.70 per gram, and the buying centre price is TZS 5,521.22 per gram.

The Mining Commission’s indicative prices serve as a reference for both formal and small-scale miners, ensuring transparency and fairness in mineral transactions. These rates are part of ongoing efforts by the Commission to regulate mineral trading, protect the interests of miners, and maintain alignment with global market trends.
