Magu District Council joined President Samia Suluhu Hassan in celebrating her birthday by planting 400 trees at Moha Secondary School in Isandula Ward, Magu District.
The exercise was led by District Commissioner Jubilate Lawuo, who was joined by Council Director Mohamed Ramadhan, Council Chairman Edward Kihamba, local leaders, and community members.
Addressing students and residents, Commissioner Lawuo urged the community to support the President’s environmental conservation initiatives, including protecting planted trees and keeping livestock away from school areas.
Council Director Ramadhan called on students and teachers to nurture the trees to ensure they thrive, noting their role in combating climate change and mitigating rising temperatures.
