Emphasis was also placed on public education as a key tool in preventing crime and promoting peaceful coexistence between refugees and host communities.

The discussions further highlighted the importance of safeguarding the social welfare of Burundian refugees, in line with Tanzania’s longstanding commitment to humanitarian principles and regional solidarity.
