The Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dr Dorothy Gwajima, has called on ministry employees to commit their hearts, energy and expertise to serving citizens with integrity and professionalism in order to deliver impactful and sustainable results.
Dr Gwajima made the remarks on January 16, 2026, during the ministry’s first staff meeting of the year, held at its offices in the Government City of Mtumba, Dodoma Region.
She commended staff for their performance in 2025 and urged them to strengthen efficiency and citizen-focused service delivery, noting that the ministry already has well-defined operational frameworks to guide its work.
“We are beginning this year with a clear operational concept for the ministry as published in the Government Gazette. I expect all staff to understand and internalise this framework. At the same time, our work must align with the 2025–2050 Development Vision to ensure the full realisation of President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s vision for the nation,” Dr Gwajima said.
She further encouraged employees to set aside personal challenges, work in unity and uphold the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Election Manifesto for 2025–2030 in the execution of their duties and the delivery of services to citizens.
Deputy Minister for Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Eng Maryprisca Mahundi, emphasised the importance of nurturing a culture of compassion and mutual respect among public servants.
“Genuine love and commitment are essential in reducing the perception that serving citizens is a burden. True patriotism is demonstrated through selfless service that prioritises the interests of society and the nation at large,” she said.
Meanwhile, the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr John Jingu, said such engagements between leadership and staff are vital in strengthening public service performance.
He assured employees that all directives issued during the meeting would be acted upon to enhance service delivery.
