The Minister for Finance, Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar, has arrived in Arusha to lead the mid-year performance review of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) for the 2025/2026 financial year. The meeting runs from January 5 to 9, 2026.
The five-day session gathers senior government officials and TRA management to assess revenue collection during the first half of the fiscal year, highlight operational achievements, and identify challenges affecting tax administration.
Key discussions will focus on strategies to boost domestic revenue mobilisation, improve taxpayer services, strengthen compliance, and leverage technology to enhance efficiency in revenue collection.
The review serves as a critical platform to ensure TRA’s performance aligns with national development priorities and the government’s fiscal agenda, which underpins public service delivery and development projects across the country.
Ambassador Omar’s presence demonstrates the government’s commitment to effective revenue administration, transparency, and accountability in Tanzania’s tax system.
