Retired Speaker of the National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and Member of Parliament for Uyole Constituency, Dr. Tulia Ackson, recently conducted an inspection of water drainage channels in Itezi Ward.
The visit aimed to assess the existing infrastructure and explore sustainable solutions to alleviate the persistent challenges faced by local residents.
Dr. Ackson emphasized the importance of ensuring that water flows smoothly through the drainage systems to prevent flooding, particularly during the ongoing heavy rains.
“This inspection is a step towards identifying durable measures that will help residents avoid the hardships caused by poorly maintained or inadequate drainage,” Dr. Ackson said during the visit.
The exercise reflects a broader commitment to improving community infrastructure and safeguarding residents against potential flood-related disasters, ensuring that public services and daily life remain uninterrupted during the rainy season.
