The Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Ambassador Dr. Bashiru Ally Kakurwa, has urged young beneficiaries of the “Build a Better Tomorrow” (BBT) program at Kagoma Ranch to fully utilise the government’s investment support to secure their future.

Speaking on December 30, 2025, during a tour of the ranch to assess the program’s progress, Dr. Bashiru stressed that youth are the driving force behind the nation’s development.

“The President has allocated more than 700 hectares to you over five years without requiring any lease payments. Normally, your land would cost TZS 9 million per year, which totals TZS 45 million over five years. This is a significant government subsidy, and with future tax adjustments, the value will increase further,” Dr. Bashiru said.

He added that, beyond the land support, the government has provided the youth with an interest-free loan of over TZS 1 billion, two motorcycles, a deep water well, and a solar power system.

“If these resources were given to a private entrepreneur, they could become billionaires in five years after repaying the loan and building their business. I urge you to work with discipline, honesty, and creativity to ensure this investment thrives,” he said.

During the visit, Dr. Bashiru also inspected the ranch’s infrastructure and listened to the challenges faced by the youth in implementing the program, offering solutions to enhance their success.
