Dodoma Jiji and Singida Black Stars Coaches call for focus after 1-1 draw

Dodoma Jiji and Singida Black Stars coaches have both lamented costly lapses in concentration after their sides played to a 1-1 draw in yesterday’s NBC Tanzania Mainland Premier League match at Jamhuri Stadium, Dodoma.

Dodoma Jiji head coach, Amani Josiah, described the game as fiercely contested, adding that missed chances prevented his team from claiming all three points.

“The match was competitive from start to finish. Our defense was solid, but our inability to convert the chances we created, particularly in the first half, cost us valuable points,” Josiah said.

“We controlled the game for long periods and generated several scoring opportunities, yet we could not take advantage. Singida Black Stars are a strong side, so earning a point gives us something to build on and highlights areas we must improve as the season continues.”he added

Singida Black Stars head coach, David Ouma, also pointed to lapses in focus as a factor in his team dropping points. He added that the opponent’s long-ball tactics posed significant challenges for his players.

“The style of play and the positioning of my players made it difficult to fully exploit opportunities,” Ouma said. “Nonetheless, I am encouraged by the performance and commitment of my squad. With better focus, they are well-positioned to deliver stronger results in upcoming matches.”

Both coaches stressed the importance of maintaining concentration, improving finishing, and taking advantage of scoring chances in order to compete effectively in the league.

The draw leaves both teams reflecting on their performance while preparing to tighten their strategies ahead of future fixtures.
