The Deputy Minister of State in the President’s Office for Planning and Investment, Dr Pius Stephen Chaya, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accelerating investment-led development in Shinyanga Region as he continued his official working tour on January 9, 2026.
Dr Chaya began the visit with a courtesy call at the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Regional Office in Shinyanga, where he held discussions with the CCM Regional Secretary, Ms Obadia, on the region’s investment priorities and development expectations.
During the meeting, Ms Obadia highlighted the aspirations of both the party and residents of Shinyanga, calling for strengthened government efforts to attract and expand investments that can stimulate economic growth, create employment opportunities and improve social welfare in the region.
Responding to the concerns, Dr Chaya assured party leaders that the government will continue to fully implement all investment commitments made by President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
He said these efforts are anchored in the CCM Election Manifesto and the National Development Vision 2050, which place investment at the centre of sustainable and inclusive economic transformation.
He noted that Shinyanga remains one of the regions with vast untapped investment potential and stressed the importance of close cooperation between the government, the ruling party and other stakeholders to translate policy commitments into practical outcomes that directly benefit citizens.
The meeting concluded with Ms Obadia formally handing over a copy of the CCM Election Manifesto to the Deputy Minister, underscoring the party’s continued support for the government’s development and investment agenda.
