The Commissioner of the Community Policing Commission, CP Faustine Shilogile, has commended police officers in Kigoma Region for their professionalism and dedication in safeguarding the safety of citizens and their property, describing their role as central to maintaining peace and public order.
During a meeting held on January 5, 2026, CP Shilogile met with the Kigoma Regional Police Commander, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Philimon Makungu, and congratulated police inspectors and officers serving in the region for consistently executing their core mandate of protecting lives and property with commitment and vigilance.
CP Shilogile is in Kigoma for a one-day official visit, accompanied by senior officers from Police Headquarters in Dodoma.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the capacity of police officers from Kigoma, Tabora, and Kagera regions on effective approaches to community policing.
He emphasized that involving communities in matters of security is essential for sustainable peace, as it builds trust, enhances cooperation, and enables citizens to actively participate in preventing crime and maintaining law and order.
The Commissioner noted that a strong partnership between the Police Force and the public is key to ensuring lasting safety and security across the regions.
