The Central Committee of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), chaired by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, met in Zanzibar today to review and approve appointments of party leadership representatives from both the Mainland and Zanzibar.

During the meeting, the committee confirmed several key appointments to the CCM National Executive Council (NEC) and other leadership positions, ensuring balanced representation of men and women from both the Parliament and House of Representatives.

From the Mainland, the NEC will include Paul Christian Makonda, Livingstone Joseph Lusinde, and Asia Abdulkarim Halamga, while Zanzibar will be represented by Khamis Mussa Omar and Tauhida Cassian Galos.

Agnes Elias Hokororo was named Secretary for all CCM parliamentarians, with Najma Murtaza Giga, Deodatus Philipo Mwanyika, and Cecilia Daniel Pareso taking on chairperson roles.

Appointments from the House of Representatives reflect a similar balance, with several men and women designated to lead.

Key representatives entering Parliament under the Tanzanian Constitution include Bakar Hamad Bakar, Dr. Shaame Ali Ali, Simai Mohammed Said, and Fatma Ramadhan Mandoba.

Machano Othman Said will serve as Secretary of the House, supported by Mahmoud Omar Hamad and Hudhaima Mbarak Tahir as chairpersons.

In addition, the committee appointed Dr. Lazaro Killian Komba as the CCM candidate for the upcoming by-election in the Peramiho constituency of Ruvuma Region, exercising powers under Article 105 (7)(f) of the CCM Constitution of July 2025.

These appointments demonstrate CCM’s commitment to strengthening party leadership, promoting inclusivity, and preparing for upcoming electoral processes, reflecting the party’s continued focus on unity and effective governance.
