Wamanda Women laud President Samia for empowering vision

By The Respondents Reporter

Women beneficiaries of the 10 per cent council loans scheme under the Wamanda Group in Nzega District, Tabora Region, have praised President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her visionary leadership and reforms that have strengthened access to the funds, saying the initiative has significantly improved their incomes and livelihoods.

The women said improvements made to the loans system under President Samia’s administration have enhanced transparency and efficiency, enabling grassroots women to access capital and engage in sustainable income-generating activities.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Ms Stellah William said the loans have transformed her life by enabling her to educate her children and grandchildren, meet daily household needs and build confidence to pursue economic opportunities independently.

“This group has helped me educate my children and grandchildren and improve my overall living standards,” she said. “Beyond the financial support, it has given me the courage and confidence to seek income opportunities on my own.”

Ms William also commended President Samia for her inclusive development agenda, noting that her leadership recognises the needs of women in rural areas who often face limited access to financial services.

“I applaud President Samia for her vision of ensuring that even people in villages benefit from government support,” she said.

“We ask her not to tire of supporting us. We need her continued leadership and commitment to empowering rural women.”she added

The Wamanda Group is among numerous women’s groups nationwide benefiting from the 10 per cent council loans policy, which allocates funds to women, youth and people with disabilities as part of the government’s broader efforts to promote financial inclusion and grassroots economic empowerment.
