TRA launches training on modern digital tax platform to simplify services for taxpayers

By The Respondents Reporter

The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has moved a step closer to modernizing tax services with the rollout of the Integrated Domestic Revenue Administration System (IDRAS), a state-of-the-art digital platform designed to simplify tax management for all taxpayers.

IDRAS integrates seamlessly with other government systems, allowing taxpayers to access services anytime, anywhere, using their Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).

The platform is set to replace existing tax management systems and streamline key processes, including Taxpayer Registration, Tax Returns Filing, Tax Payments, Objections and Appeals, Tax Refunds, Tax Reliefs and Exemptions, management of Electronic Fiscal Devices (EFDs), and applications for Tax Clearance Certificates and other licenses.

To ensure smooth adoption, TRA is conducting a series of virtual training sessions for stakeholders. The first session, held today at 4:00 p.m., introduced participants to the platform and its portals.

Future sessions will cover modules such as Taxpayer Registration, E-tax Invoice and Inventory Management, Returns Filing and Assessment, Objections and Appeals, Debt Management, Refunds Management, Tax Relief and Exemptions, among others. Each session aims to provide taxpayers with practical skills to use IDRAS efficiently.

TRA is encouraging all taxpayers and the public to participate actively in the trainings to familiarize themselves with the new system.

Links to training sessions and additional resources will be shared on TRA’s website and social media channels.

“Together We Build Our Nation,” TRA emphasized, highlighting the role of IDRAS in improving transparency, efficiency, and convenience in tax administration.
