The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has installed modern machines at its Ilala and Temeke offices to collect taxpayers’ feedback, a move aimed at improving service delivery.
The automated machines allow taxpayers to rate services immediately after receiving them, indicating whether they were highly satisfied, satisfied, or dissatisfied.
Speaking in Ilala, TRA Regional Manager Eva Raphael said the feedback will help the Authority identify areas for improvement and enhance efficiency.
“This machine operates on its own. Once a taxpayer finishes receiving services, it prompts them to rate our service excellent, average, or poor,” Ms. Raphael explained.
She also reminded taxpayers to settle the fourth installment of their income tax, due this December.
“December is the period for paying the fourth installment of income tax. It is important for taxpayers to meet this obligation on time,” she said, while thanking citizens for their continued support.
“Your cooperation allows TRA to perform effectively. We urge you to continue partnering with us,” she added.
In Temeke, Regional Manager Masau Malima welcomed the arrival of the machines, saying they come at a crucial time as TRA intensifies revenue collection toward the end of the year.
“The machines arrive at the right moment as we aim to make history by collecting TZS 4 trillion in December,” Mr. Malima said.
He added that Temeke is ready to break records, noting that collecting this amount in a single month has never been achieved since the Authority’s inception.
“The machines will also help us receive feedback on service quality, allowing TRA to improve and deliver more efficiently,” he said.
