The Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) is participating in the 18th Transport Sector Performance Review Meeting, a three-day forum taking place at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC), bringing together key stakeholders to assess progress and set priorities for the sector.

As a major player in the transport sector, TARURA continues to play a vital role in improving road infrastructure and transport services in both rural and urban areas, with the aim of enhancing mobility, trade and access to social services across the country.

During the meeting, the Acting Manager for Road Safety at TARURA, Engineer Faizer Mbange, presented the agency’s performance report for the 2024/2025 financial year, outlining key achievements, ongoing interventions and efforts to strengthen road safety and service delivery in line with national development goals.

Alongside the plenary sessions, TARURA is also taking part in an exhibition, providing an opportunity to engage directly with stakeholders.

Through the exhibition, the agency is offering information on its mandate and operations, while also collecting feedback and addressing concerns from road users and other stakeholders to further improve its services.

This year’s meeting is being held under the theme, “Inclusive Transport Systems as a Key Foundation for Economic Growth Towards Tanzania’s National Development Vision 2025,” highlighting the importance of integrated and accessible transport infrastructure in supporting economic growth and national development.
