Tanzania is leveraging the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 finals to explore strategies for boosting its tourism sector and attracting investment ahead of its co-hosting of the 2027 tournament.

Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism, Hamad Hassan Chande, said in Rabat that Tanzania is studying Morocco’s approach to infrastructure development, marketing strategies, and stakeholder engagement to adopt best practices at home.
“The Royal Tour has significantly strengthened investor confidence by presenting Tanzania’s rich natural and cultural assets to a global audience,” Chande said.
“By examining Morocco’s investments in modern, efficient, and attractive infrastructure, we aim to identify practical strategies to elevate Tanzania’s tourism offerings and attract international investment.”he added
He emphasized that major sporting events such as AFCON provide a unique platform for destination marketing, enabling countries to reach global audiences and showcase their capacity to host large-scale international competitions.
“Our goal is to position Tanzania as a competitive destination for both tourists and investors, and to achieve our target of eight million visitors by 2030,” Chande added.
