The Tanzania Electric Supply Company Limited (TANESCO) has informed the public that electricity purchasing services (LUKU) have been fully restored after earlier technical problems affected customers across the country.
In its official notice, TANESCO said the challenges that stopped people from buying electricity through mobile money and banks have now been resolved.
Customers can now buy electricity normally using all available payment options.
Electricity tokens are currently available through mobile money services such as M-Pesa, Tigo Pesa, Airtel Money and HaloPesa, as well as through banks and authorized LUKU agents nationwide.
This means households, businesses and institutions can continue using electricity without interruption.
TANESCO apologized to citizens for the inconvenience caused by the temporary disruption and thanked customers for their patience as technicians worked to fix the system.
The power utility assured the public that it is strengthening its systems to improve service reliability and prevent similar problems in the future.
Customers who face any challenges are encouraged to contact TANESCO through its official customer service channels for help.
The notice was issued by the Directorate of Communication and Customer Service at TANESCO Headquarters in Dodoma.
