The Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) on December 23, 2025 took part in the Rombo Marathon held in Rombo District, Kilimanjaro Region, using the event to promote tourism attractions while supporting sports tourism.
The marathon attracted participants from different parts of Tanzania and abroad, providing an important platform for Ngorongoro to showcase its rich natural and cultural heritage.
NCAA staff also participated in various race categories, reflecting the authority’s commitment to promoting sports as a tool for tourism development and community engagement.
Through its participation, the NCAA emphasized the growing role of sports tourism in marketing Tanzania’s world-renowned attractions, while also strengthening partnerships with stakeholders through social, national, and international events.
Alongside the races, members of the public and participants had the opportunity to visit the Ngorongoro exhibition booth set up at the venue.
At the booth, visitors received education and information on conservation and tourism activities, as well as the role of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in protecting natural resources and preserving cultural heritage.
The initiative highlighted Ngorongoro’s continued efforts to combine conservation, tourism promotion, and community outreach, while supporting national initiatives that link sports, tourism, and sustainable development.
